30 Days of Gratitude - Day 6
If I am being completely honest, it has been very challenging today to take note of things that I am grateful for. I know that I have been communicating that regardless of what is happening around you, there is always something to be grategul for. Like many of you, the results of the Presidential election have left me questioning so many things about what I have hoped for in relation to my living in this country as a woman and a Black woman. Today has been a challenge to even utter the words thankful and grateful, let alone, identify those things I am grateful for.
But then I am reminded of all the strong women in my family and race that have gone before me and stood tall and proud for me to be here. I am reminded that these women endured conditions much worse than what I am experiencing and they still survived, so I know that I will survive as well.
So today, I am grateful for all the women in my family and race who have demonstrated a grace, class, and strength that is unmatched. I am also grateful for Vice-President Kamala Harris and the stance she took for this country and all its citizens to experience the life, liberty, and justice we all should be afforded.
On day 6 of our 30 Days of Gratitude Journey, I challenge you to find what you are grateful for, even in the midst of the confusion present in our country today.
Still Grateful,
Dr. Daphne
