When One of Us Wins, We All Win

I have always been the type of person that likes to see the people in her life win and do well. I am the friend that is supportive and will cheer my friends on. I have never been a jealous or envious type of person, and have always been comfortable with who I am and my accomplishments, and wanted to see my friends experience those same successes.

Over the last month I have been able to witness two people very close to me successfully defend their dissertations and earn their doctorates. It filled me with so much pride to witness these two women excel at such a high level and contribute to the growing knowledge and expertise in their chosen fields of study. As I witnessed these two events, it further solidified for me that there is more than enough to go around for everyone to win.

In our country and society right now, we are trying to be fed a falsehood based on fear and a scarcity mindset. The scarcity mindset keeps us in competition with one another and not seeing the humanity in one another. Being able to support these two women reminded me that we are all in this together and we can all win and it not take anything away from anyone else's accomplishments.

This is a lavish, abundant world with more than enough resources to go around for everyone, so we do not have to constantly be in competition for resources. We can support one another and it not take a thing away from our accomplishments or our resources. Let's adopt a new mindset of growth and abundance, so that we understand that When One of Us Wins, We All Win.
