31 Days of Joy - Day 23 - Joy of Preparation
Those of you that know me well and/or have been following the blog for a while, you know that Christmas is my favorite holiday. Really the season from right after Labor Day to Valentine's Day is my favorite time of the year. Out of that time, Christmas is my absolute favorite. I love the feeling of magic and miracles and love that seems to fill the air during this time. I also love the hustle and bustle of preparing for holiday parties and decorating my home. I am that person that starts preparation after Labor Day. I start making lists of things that I want to do during the holiday season, who I need to purchase gifts for, and even what my holiday meals might look like. The people in my life that know me best, know that I am an organized person and I have a checklist of things that I do each day to help me stay on task and accomplish the things I need to. So, for me, I get joy from being organized and prepared.
Preparing for the Christmas Holiday is no different. I am filled with excitement and joy when I start preparing for the holiday. I am like a kid when I prepare to decorate my home or get things ready to entertain. Since we are just two days away from Christmas, what are you doing or have done to prepare for the holiday season? How does engaging in that preparation make you feel? Today, on day 23 of the 31 Days of Joy Series, find one thing to feel joy about as you prepare to celebrate Christmas or this season.
Filled With Joy,
Dr. Daphne
